Meet Yeonhee — easier music control with a dashboard

Studio Yeonhong's second project, built for stability and convenience.

Why a music bot?

After working on voice features with Yeonhong and Yeonha, we wanted another project that built on that experience. Sharing existing resources seemed worth a little extra maintenance. That led us to a music bot.

It depends even more heavily on voice than Yeonhong and needs to run around the clock without interruption. We saw it as another test of our stability.

Sound quality and stability come first

Sound quality was not the hardest part. Codec and streaming improvements help, but in Discord, voice-channel bitrate is the biggest bottleneck. So we focused more on stability.

We adapted the studio's monitoring system, already used for Yeonhong, to Yeonhee. After writing the code, we identified likely failure points and watched them closely. This also introduced targeted monitoring to our control system.

When a monitored area has a problem, AI assesses it and notifies an administrator. It can even resolve simpler issues itself.

Familiar features, smoother to use

Music bots are everywhere, and most already have plenty of features.

We focused on refining the essentials: keeping the web dashboard and client in sync, reordering queues by dragging, and creating personal playlists. Useful features should be easy to use.

Web dashboard

More than a month after launch, we have some numbers to look at. They keep reminding us that building the dashboard was the right call.

At first, we worried: if people could use bot commands, would anyone need a dashboard? What if nobody used it?

We knew there was demand, and now two out of three Yeonhee users control it through the dashboard. Seeing that was surprising and rewarding. Queue changes, volume controls, and skipping several songs are particularly popular — just the actions we thought were awkward in Discord.

What comes next

A service running smoothly gives us time to prepare what is next. We keep updating Yeonhee, with features such as live subtitles and personal playlists added since launch. We are now preparing playback across multiple voice channels on one server with a single action.

We are working toward useful features and a smooth experience. Your interest keeps us going.
